Barah Valley | Khaplu Barah Valley Baltistan and its Beauties

Barah valley is not only famous for its natural herbs and dry fruits but also, make a surprise due to its delightful and charming aesthetic viewpoints.

This beautiful valley is located neighboring Khaplu (Ghanche district),100km from Skardu city Pakistan Baltistan in the east. It will take 2 hours’ drive from Skardu to the Barah Valley by Jeep. Approximately 2600 meters extend up to sea level. Its is located 5km before Khaplu Valley.

 Peoples are very simple, laborious, and hospitable in nature. Mostly they are living a purely organic lifestyle. Their culture and festival are unique. Besides, the beauty of this valley can be appreciated only after seeing its natural landscapes.

Gardens are in abundance and apricot trees grow like weeds. In fact, locals claim that Barah produces the best apricots in the country and there are over 40 varieties! The Barah Valley is a beautiful location on the left bank of the river Shayok. Known for its apricots and stunning sceneries, it's the perfect place to start a trek to Moses Peak.

 Once at the top, you can take in the panorama of the entire region and the surrounding ranges. You can even view Nanga Parbat on a clear day! Different views in both summer and winter are pleasing to the heart and you get a chance to enjoy the natural beauty in every way. 1. Moses’ peak Barah Broq:

The Moses peak is situated in the Barah valley of the Karakoram, which is about 5,700 meters above the sea level. The view from the top was so spectacular. It is in an open zone; any one did not have to pay a peak Royalty fee to climb this mountain tower. One of the unique features of Moses peak is that you can experience the amazing view of the K-2 on the second the highest peak in the world, along with almost all the other 7000m+ peaks in the area including Nangaparbat, Mashabrom, Ghashabrom1/2/3/4, Baltoro kangri, Sia kangri, and many other snow-covered peaks.

 An an easy, lovely route of 4-5 days at the base camp of the Moses peak and back, to Barah village. The route is located in the open Area. This is a popular trekking destination in Barah village. It will provide you with a unique experience to spend your time with the villager and you can enjoy the stunning and amazing natural the beauty of the valley from the top and this trip to witness the culture and living lifestyle of the local villager. The best time to trek this range is between from May to October.

 Like eye-drop lake (Barah Broq);

The trek from Barah to Moses peak takes you to two beautiful and amazing lakes in Barah Broq, the lakes are called left lake-4430m & right lake-4420m (in between the lakes there is a rocky mountain which separates both lakes). There is a highly economically important medicinal herbs are also found around the lacks and nearby areas. 2. Twin Waterfall (Braq Bu):

This waterfall is present at the head of Broqpa village of Barah valley, falling from the top of the hill in between the highly delightful, attractive greenery area. You can view the amazing looks of the waterfall from a far distance, which seems like a milky stream. Varieties of trees, as well as lots of apricot trees, are also there. The top of this waterfall is lush green and plain and it is one of the scenic view points of Barah valley.

3. Pure organic Village of Barah valley:

Located at the top of Barah behind the hill, up to 30km upward from the valley. Rarely do people are living there, they eat pure organic food and their lifestyle is much more unique. They never use any chemical fertilizers for their crops, the source of fertilizers is only their own castles. The local inhabitants called this area as " Galjin and ltanobroq”.

4.Baras Pari (Barah valley view point):

There are many view points on Barah, but Baras Pari is the highly attractive and cheerful scenic viewpoint of this valley. This point is located at the top of the police check place, which is the end of Barah starting with Khaplu city. You can easily go from the main road through an easy and comfortable pathway to reach there and get a chance to view some part of Khaplu as well as the big desert which expended from Barah valley to Khaplu and the view of Barah from there is so spectacular especially in the blooming season of apricot along with steep and slope areas seem chiefly beautiful.

5. Beautiful Gondail and Clean, freshwater stream:

It is One of the most charming, appreciable, and heart-pleasing places of Barah valley called Gondail by the la local community. The real the beauty of this place starts final May and remain till October by cultivating varieties of vegetables and crops Mostly the cropping fields are present there, the water comes from a very lovely spring which irrigates the entire Gondail field far and wide through small canals. Different flowers especially lots of dandelions are there which enhances its beauty more. The Gondail is all smooth and plain, and we can view the top hilly areas along with Khaplu Broq as well as Surmo Broq from the surface.

An amazing spring lake: (world cleanness water) The local inhabitant called this lake BONG-BONG RZING, which is come in the topmost clean water in the world. Three lakes are there which irrigate fields of Gondail as well as flow towards village sides and used by villagers as well.

 Trout fishes are also present in these lakes. It is one of the lovely tourist points of Barah valley, you never forget to visit here. The beauty of nearby areas along with the insight of lack make surprised, you can easily enjoy it there without any restriction.

LAND OF APRICOT AND TROUT FISH:

Barah valley is famous due to the presents of varieties of apricot trees all over Baltistan. There is a separate beauty during the blooming season of apricot as well as the ripening season. Whenever you come there in the season of ripening apricots, you will find an interesting thing that there are so many apricots on a tree that the tree will not be picked its branches and its branches will bend towards the ground and there is the danger of breaking again. When it happens, people pick it up with the the help of sticks.

Besides apricot, it is also popular in Baltistan due to its chiefly presence of trout fish. 2,3 Fish forms are present there, you can visit and buy them any time. Rainbow fish local name (Trout) Fishes are also present in the common canals and lakes, when you go to the riverside’s fishes, seem to you easily.
